Kayla's Surgery and Recovery

Kayla had her surgery March 4 at the Huntsman Cancer Center. The surgery went well but they ended up having to remove her left kidney with the tumor because they could not safely save the kidney as the tumor had stretched the blood vessels too thin that went to the kidney. Had her mission president not had the inspiration to send her home when he did the blood supply could have been completely cut off to the kidney shutting down both kidney's and putting her into renal failure. It was a blessing she came home when she did and had the tumor removed. Kayla stayed at home and recovered for 2 1/2 months. She wanted to return to the mission field for the last few months of her mission and was reassigned to the Tampa, Florida mission.
