Well this week was wild haha, We found a Brazilian family to teach and I’m so excited about it, They are from Sao Paulo, I was sooo excited!!!!!! This week I start my last full transfer so that is crazy to think my mission is officially ending...... Our puzzle has had a lot of success, tons of people came up to us at church yesterday wanting to share their missionary experiences and put their puzzle piece on. We were so excited! Members are soooo important in missionary work! We also go the transfer calls this week! My companion will be leaving, and my new companion’s name is Sister Heap, I’m so excited to meet her. Sister Palmer and I will get to hangout at BYU so that will be fun too! Well our teaching pool really grew this week and we are excited! I love you all and I hope you all have a great week!!!

Become as a Little Child

Hey everyone I don't have much time but I promise that next weeks email will be more exciting! It rained everyday this week haha LOTS of rain and humidity, my hair looks super great haha!! We had a hard time finding new people but our friends Alex and Gwen from the Philippines came to church again so that as exciting! I just love them so much, no matter what is going on or the problems they have they are just so happy. I was also reading some talks this week from President Nelson and I noticed how much he says he loves kids, and I love how in the Book of Mormon it actually tell us to be more like children...meek submissive, humble, patient, and it goes on (Mosiah 3:19. ) I love that scripture because even if we are are adults or older in age we can still have a spirit like a child. Through the atonement of Christ!! It makes me so grateful for the atonement! So I hope you all notice those attributes of little kids around you and try to be more like them. I think we can actually learn a lot from them haha! We;; I love you all and I hope you have a great week!! Te amo!!

Visit from the Prophet

Hey everyone, So this week we saw the prophet so you could say it was a pretty great week! We also got to go to the Orlando temple which was so fun. I love temples so so much! A lot of our appointments fell through this week but we still worked really hard. We also spoke in church, I spoke on how through small and simple things are great things brought to pass.... Then related it to the gathering of Israel and how we are all small and simple pieces of a much bigger picture then explained a small activity we are wanting to do with the ward. We made a cool puzzle poster for our ward to help see how much work we are getting done, my idea was inspired by a cool quote I heard, "When performance is measured performance improves...When performance is measured and reported the rate of improvement accelerates." So I will send pictures but basically when they do something off the list we gave them they get to put a puzzle piece on the puzzle and get a small piece of chocolate then when the puzzle is finished we will have a ward BBQ. I hope that made sense, haha I will send some pictures, but we are excited and the ward seems really excited about it too so its gonna be great!! We are also doing a 40 day fast with the ward for missionary work each day a different person fasts for strengthening and growing the ward. We also saw the prophet at a HUGE stadium in Orlando, we were also pleasantly surprised when the members that gave us a ride picked us up in a Tesla, haha it was such a nice car (I'm not in Brasil anymore) I will send some pics!! There were a couple of missions there and thousands of members! It was amazing, President Nelson is truly called of God. I also love how much him and Elder Utchdorf (who was also there) love their wives. They are so cute!! They talked about the importance of inviting people to come and see! I hope y'all are inviting everyone to be a part of the gospel every chance you get! Three powerful words that can change lives "come and see" so invite!! Love y'all have a great week!!!

Eating Pigs Ears!

Hey y’all, well this week was an interesting one, ha ha we met a lot of unique people I guess you could say! One of my favorite things about serving a mission is the different people you meet. Especially here in Florida because they come from all over the world. We didn't find very many new people to teach this week but we did have some solid lessons with Gwen, Alex, and Errick!! I just love them all so much! Gwen and Alex are from the Philippines and they are the happiest people I have ever met, they also really love making us Filipino food so that's been a good time. Haha like last night we got to eat pig ear......... it was kinda like chewing on a balloon full of pretzels or something I dont know quite know how to describe it. Haha different for sure, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. We did a lot of finding this week and working hard!! Next week we get to go to the Orlando Temple for zone conference and then on Sunday we are going back to Orlando to a huge stadium that president Nelson will be speaking at!! Its going to be an exciting week!! We also got our 72 hour kits packed up because its hurricane season here, hopefully we don’t actually have to use them though, Haha! Well that's it for my week, I'm excited for next week! I hope you're all making your scripture study happen, each day I've noticed that sometimes I just read to read so this week I really made it a goal to read with a question or a purpose and genuinely study the stories and it was cool to see how much I could get out of it even if it was just for 20 minutes before I went to sleep! I hope y’all are reading with a purpose or a question and if you’re not I challenge you to do it and then write down what you learned after each study! He truly can speak to us through his words, the scriptures! I love them!!! And I love all you, have a great week!!

Quotes of the week:
"Yeah I speak 2 languages too!! Hillbilly and English"
" I was just curious if y’all have 6 wives, because I am a one woman man!! I can’t handle more than that!!"😂😂😂

Filipino Food!

Hey everyone,
So this week was good, we are opening an area which means we are kind of starting from scratch and neither of us know where anything is so it's been interesting...... we are teaching a couple of people right now from the Philippines!! I just love them, they are the happiest people I have ever met. They have been through some pretty tough things in their lives and they are still just so happy, Alex and guendalina they are brother and sister! We had dinner with them a little while ago and she was so excited to share Filipino food with us, it was SO GOOD!! They are special people and are progressing really well. Our other pretty solid person is Errick we had a lesson with him 2 days ago over Facebook that was really good.... he is so funny, he's super tall and plays a lot of basket ball...his accent sounds kinda like a new Yorker, Haha I love it. He is so prepared. Well that's was about all for my week! Twas a good one. I hope you all have a really good week and if you get some time check out the talk called "Keeping lifes demands in Balance" by President Ballard it is amazing!! Love you all!!

First Mission email from Florida!

Hey y'all as these southern people would say haha I love them and there are people from all over the world here so we are learning lots of new things. I don't have much time but a quick update.... I ran into Elder Renlund at the airport on the way here and took a picture with him and his wife.... I was a little star struck and kinda just stared at him smiling like a weirdo, but I managed to tell him a little of my story and we chatted for a bit. It was something that I will remember forever. Then moments after that I saw Elder Christoffersen running by to go somewhere, he looked like he was in a hurry so we didn't talk but we did make solid eye contact for about 4 minutes so that was good and we said hello. If you ever want to meet an apostle just go hangout in the Salt Lake airport I guess haha! So I am in an English ward but everyone in our area speaks Spanish and I have heard there are some Portuguese speaking people, I haven't found them yet but I'm sure they are here somewhere and we will find them in no time but I have learned a lot of Spanish. It's kind of hard to keep straight with Portuguese but My comp Hermana Palmer is a Spanish Missionary so we are teaching in 3 languages....... its gonna be great!! She's is awesome. We are in the Citrus Park ward! Serving in the USA is completely different..... like the work is the same but wow....... AC, Phones, cars, and shower curtains really make a difference hahah what a blessing! It is soooo pretty here, I will send some more pictures next week. I love you all and hope you have a great week!!

Kayla's Surgery and Recovery

Kayla had her surgery March 4 at the Huntsman Cancer Center. The surgery went well but they ended up having to remove her left kidney with the tumor because they could not safely save the kidney as the tumor had stretched the blood vessels too thin that went to the kidney. Had her mission president not had the inspiration to send her home when he did the blood supply could have been completely cut off to the kidney shutting down both kidney's and putting her into renal failure. It was a blessing she came home when she did and had the tumor removed. Kayla stayed at home and recovered for 2 1/2 months. She wanted to return to the mission field for the last few months of her mission and was reassigned to the Tampa, Florida mission.
